Hello Online Beauty Bosses, for some time now I’ve had many questions about video and how I create them so today I thought I’d share a couple of tips on creating videos and how to add it to your Avon eStore.

As an Avon eRepresentative creating a personal connection with your customers can make a big difference when it comes to your online marketing efforts.

So always try to keep in mind, the more your customers see and hear you, whether that be through pictures or video, the more likely they’ll want to shop with you.

Connect-with-Customers

Creating a constant presence of yourself in emails, social media, blog posts and yes even over at your eStore will help your customers make that connection and give them the feeling like they know you.

One way to accomplish this is through video, and adding a personal welcome video to your Avon Home page is a great way to introduce yourself & welcome your customers to your eStore.

You can make a very simple video shot from your phone or web cam, just saying hello and letting customers know if they need you to feel free to contact you.

Adding The Video To Your Avon eStore

Once you’ve made your video you can then add it to your Avon eStore. Just follow these steps:

1)  Login to Your Avon.com

2)  Click the Web Office Tab

3)  Click the pink Edit My eStore button

4)  Click the Edit Pencil where you want the video to go

5)  Click Embed Video

6)  Enter the Video URL

7)  Click Save

Tips On Creating Video

If you’re new to making videos here are a couple of tips that might help.

1) If you’re using your phone or tablet shoot the video in landscape mode so it will easily fit in a rectangular frame.

Landscape VS Portrait

2) Make sure you have good lighting or your video will come out “grainy”. If your room doesn’t get much light consider shooting your video outside.

3) Make sure you have clear sounding Audio.

4) Plan on what you’re going to say first before you shoot the video and go over “your script” a couple of times as well. 5) Wear Avon Fashion and/or Jewelry if you can and try to make a good first impression. 6) Try to be natural, be yourself and have some energy when you’re talking.

Now if you aren’t used to shooting video and feel awkward, uncomfortable, or just not sure what to say it’s okay. That’s where having a script to refer to will help, and the more you do it the more comfortable you’ll get. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you have to do it over a couple of times. Believe me, I still have a hard time getting in front of the camera and usually have to do several retakes. It’s one of my biggest challenges.

I have a hard time remembering what I’m going to say and tend to ramble, so I work with a script and also use slides and voice narration so I don’t have to be in front of the camera so much. It’s a happy compromise and I still accomplish my goal of having my customers hear and see me.

Editing Your Videos:

There are free Video Editors you can find online but your computer may already have one built in so take a look in your applications to see if there’s anything that looks like an editor.

Here are a couple of programs you can use for free:

Window Movie Maker for PC download to computer

iMovie for Mac download for mac devises

Lightworks This a video editing program for Free! I haven’t used it myself but it’s worth giving it a try.

Cinelerra Another Free editing software to try

Image Editors:

If you want to make a video with slides and voice narration you can either use clip art or create your own images. Then import those images into your video editor.

Here are some Free Image Editors you can use to create your slides:

Canva.com

Gimp.com

PiZap.com

Pixlar.com

Using Free Images & Clipart:

You can do a Google Search for "FREE Clip Art" or "Free Images" to find images for your video slides.

I suggest always adding the word FREE in your search for graphics, because when you use someone else’s images you always want to make sure you have permission to use them.  So searching for Free is the best bet and usually implies they are free to use.

Here are a couple of Free Image website to check out.

Pixabay.com

FreeImages.com

All-Free-Download.com

OpenClipart.org

As your skills get better and you find yourself creating more videos you might want to consider investing in programs that have more features.

I chose to do that a couple years back and I’ve gotten a lot out of these programs I personally use!  For my video editing I use Camtasia by Techsmith

For slides I use Adobe Photoshop

And for images I use DepositPhoto as well as Canva.

Then lastly, when you’re finished editing your video, just upload it to YouTube and follow the steps found at the beginning of this article to add it to your Avon eStore!

Ok, Beauty Bosses, if you found these tips helpful feel free to Like & Share, and if you plan to add your own Welcome Video to your Avon eStore or already have, please leave your comments and let me know how it went.
